Trauma-Informed Professional Education for Therapists, Helping Professionals, and Organizations

Many clinicians are trained to work primarily through insight, cognition, behavior change, and conversation. Those approaches are essential — yet many clients understand their patterns and still struggle to create meaningful, lasting change.

Trauma, chronic stress, burnout, anxiety, perfectionism, over-functioning, emotional reactivity, and identity-level challenges are often held not only in thoughts and beliefs, but within the nervous system and the body.

My work bridges traditional psychotherapy with nervous system science, somatic psychology, trauma-informed breathwork, and embodied clinical practice — helping clinicians support transformation that extends beyond cognitive insight alone.

Through experiential education, ethical reflection, and practical clinical application, I teach therapists and helping professionals how to thoughtfully integrate:

  • Nervous system regulation

  • Somatic awareness and embodiment

  • Trauma-informed breathwork

  • Imagery and subconscious processes

  • Parts-informed and experiential approaches

  • Reflection, integration, and sustainable therapeutic change

Participants leave with practical tools they can immediately integrate into clinical practice, increased confidence working with embodied approaches, and a deeper understanding of how meaningful therapeutic change unfolds through the ongoing relationship between mind, body, and nervous system.

The breath may open the door. Embodied integration is what helps clients walk through it.

The Soul of the Lotus Academy™ offers continuing education and professional development designed for therapists and helping professionals seeking practical, trauma-informed approaches that can be thoughtfully integrated into clinical practice.

Current trainings are designed to meet the continuing education requirements of the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists (OBLPCT). Participants receive a certificate of completion documenting instructional hours and attendance. Because the OBLPCT does not pre-approve continuing education providers, licensees are responsible for determining whether a course meets their individual licensure requirements.

✧ Why This Work Matters

Many clients don't need more insight. They need a nervous system that can safely experience what insight alone cannot change — greater capacity, greater flexibility and choice, a deeper connection to themselves, and meaningful ways to translate awareness into lived experience.

These principles shape every training I teach:

Transformation doesn't happen because clients think differently. It happens because their bodies finally believe something new is safe.

Insight is not integration. Lasting therapeutic change emerges through the ongoing relationship between the mind, body, and nervous system — and the goal is not simply symptom reduction, but greater flexibility, resilience, and capacity for life.

Transformation is not learned through information alone. It is cultivated through experience, reflection, and integration. My trainings are intentionally experiential, practical, and clinically grounded — participants engage through reflection, discussion, case application, guided experiential practices, and thoughtful integration, not to become practitioners of a specific modality, but to develop a more embodied understanding of therapeutic change.

The goal is not to teach clinicians a collection of techniques. The goal is to help clinicians develop a deeper way of thinking about transformation — one that informs every intervention, every clinical decision, and every therapeutic relationship.

These principles form the foundation of the Soul of the Lotus® philosophy of embodied transformation and guide every training offered through the Soul of the Lotus Academy™.

The Soul of the Lotus Clinical Framework™

ROOT • RELEASE • INTEGRATE • EMBODY

The Soul of the Lotus Clinical Framework™ offers a practical, trauma-informed lens for understanding where clients are in the therapeutic process and what they need most in the moment. Rather than relying on technique alone, it helps clinicians make intentional, clinically attuned decisions that support safety, integration, and lasting therapeutic change.

ROOT

  • Safety. Regulation. Connection. Capacity.

RELEASE

  • Awareness. Emotional processing. Access to internal experience.

INTEGRATE

  • Meaning-making. Reflection. Understanding.

EMBODY

  • Practice. Self-leadership. Sustainable change.

This framework moves clinicians beyond asking "What technique should I use?" and into a more clinically attuned question: what does this client most need right now?
