“just like the lotus, we too have the ability to rise from the mud, bloom out of the darkness, and radiate into the world.”
A practice built on wholeness.
Every life reaches moments when what once sustained us no longer feels like enough. The roles we've carried, the identities we've inhabited, the ways we learned to survive — over time, many of us discover they no longer reflect the life we're longing to live.
I don't believe those moments mean something is wrong. I believe they're invitations: to slow down, to listen more deeply, to restore relationship — with ourselves, our bodies, the people we love, and the life waiting to be lived more fully.
That belief became Soul of the Lotus®.
✧ Meet Caroline —
Hi! I'm Caroline McGrath.
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC, NCC), Certified Trauma-Informed Breathwork and HypnoBreathwork Facilitator, Certified Somatic Jungian Coach, Clinical Educator, Certified TRE® Provider, and Founder of Soul of the Lotus®. I've spent more than two decades walking alongside people through some of the most meaningful transitions of their lives.
Long before this became my profession, it was my own path. It still is. Like so many of the people I now serve, I've known seasons where life quietly asked me to let go of identities that no longer fit — motherhood, partnership, career transitions, grief, personal transformation. Each one invited me into a deeper relationship with myself. None of them asked me to become someone different. They asked me to become more honest, more present, more compassionate, more willing to trust the wisdom of my own body.
Looking back, I don't see those seasons as detours. I see them as thresholds — each one a return to something that had never truly been lost.
That experience continues to shape how I meet every person who walks through my door.
✧ The Philosophy Behind My Work
Soul of the Lotus® grew from a question that stayed with me for years: why do people who understand themselves so well still struggle to create lasting change?
Again and again, I met thoughtful, insightful people who could explain their patterns with remarkable clarity. They knew where their anxiety began. They understood why they struggled in relationships. They recognized the beliefs they'd carried since childhood. Yet understanding alone often wasn't enough — something deeper was asking for attention.
That question led me beyond insight and into the study of nervous system regulation, somatic psychology, trauma-informed breathwork, depth psychology, and embodied healing. What I found changed the way I understand therapy, and the way I understand healing itself.
Healing is not about becoming someone new. It's about restoring relationship — with yourself, your body, others, and life.
Life changes us. Relationships shape us. Pain leaves its imprint. To survive, we adapt. Those adaptations aren't evidence that we're broken — they're evidence that we're human. Healing isn't about erasing them. It's about honoring them with gratitude while gently discovering which ones are no longer needed.
As relationship is restored, transformation unfolds naturally. That belief is the foundation of everything I create — from therapy and breathwork to Heroine's Emergence™, retreats, professional education, speaking, and every future expression of Soul of the Lotus®.
✧ How I Work
No two people arrive with the same story, and there's no single technique or formula that creates healing. My approach is integrative, trauma-informed, and grounded in both science and deep respect for the wisdom of the human body and the complexity of human experience — drawing from evidence-informed psychotherapy, nervous system science, somatic practices, trauma-informed breathwork, depth psychology, and parts-informed approaches to meet each person where they are.
Rather than asking, "What's wrong with me?" I often invite a different question: "What helped me survive, and what might become possible if I no longer had to carry it alone?"
Together, we'll work at a pace that honors your nervous system, your story, and your capacity — not forcing change, but creating the conditions where it can unfold on its own.
✧ Who I Support
I work with people navigating the seasons of life that ask something more of us.
Midlife women —
moving through identity shifts, hormonal transitions, career changes, and the unraveling of roles that no longer fit — ready to reconnect with their voice and their sense of self.
High-performing women and leaders —
professionals, founders, and creatives ready to set down the armor they've carried for so long and lead from a place that feels more grounded and embodied.
Helpers and caregivers —
therapists, educators, medical professionals, and others who hold space for everyone else, ready to turn some of that same care toward themselves.
Young adults and college students —
navigating anxiety, identity shifts, and the emotional weight of life transitions, through individual therapy.
Wherever you find yourself, there's a place for you here.

My teaching integrates psychotherapy, nervous system science, somatic healing, and trauma-informed breathwork — practical, experiential, and immediately applicable to how professionals actually practice.
Whether I'm teaching graduate students, therapists, healthcare professionals, or organizational leaders, my goal is always the same: to bridge evidence-informed knowledge with practical, compassionate application.
✧ Beyond Therapy
Therapy is where this work began.
Over time, it became clear that people need different kinds of spaces at different points in their lives.
Some begin with therapy.
Others are drawn to breathwork.
Some continue into Heroine's Emergence™, retreats, or private mentorship.
Clinicians and organizations experience this work through professional trainings and speaking.
Each offering serves a different purpose.
Each begins at a different place.
Yet they all grow from the same foundation:
Helping people cultivate greater awareness, strengthen their capacity, and experience lasting transformation in the way they live, relate, and move through the world.
✧ My Mission
My mission is to help people reconnect with their inherent wholeness and create the conditions where lasting transformation can unfold.
Whether I'm sitting with one person in a therapy session, guiding a room full of women, teaching clinicians, or speaking to an organization, my hope is the same: to help people trust the wisdom of their bodies, meet themselves with greater compassion, restore relationship with what matters most, and live from a place that feels more grounded, more connected, and more fully their own.
✧ An Invitation
If you're here because something in your life is asking for attention — anxiety, grief, burnout, a life transition, a relationship, or simply a quiet sense that you've become disconnected from yourself — you don't have to navigate it alone.
Healing doesn't ask you to become someone else. It gently invites you back into relationship with who you've always been.
I'd be honored to walk alongside you.
