Trauma-Informed Therapy for Women Navigating Life Transitions
Also Supporting College Students & Young Adults
Located in Lake Oswego, serving the Portland area and clients across Oregon via secure telehealth.
There are seasons in life when everything begins to shift.
A relationship ends.
Your identity begins to change.
The life you’ve built no longer feels aligned with who you are becoming.
These moments can feel disorienting, overwhelming, and deeply emotional — especially when you are also caring for children, managing work, or facing difficult decisions about the future.
Many of the women I work with never imagined they would be navigating divorce or such a profound life transition. You may feel uncertain about what comes next, question your decisions, or worry about how these changes will affect your children and your future.
Therapy offers a grounded and confidential space where you can slow down, process what you're experiencing, and reconnect with your inner clarity and steadiness.
I specialize in therapy for women navigating divorce, separation, and major life transitions, helping clients move through change with greater emotional stability, self-trust, and direction.
I also work with college students and young adults who are navigating important life transitions during early adulthood — including anxiety, identity development, relationship challenges, and uncertainty about the future.
Divorce & Separation Transitions
Separation and divorce are among the most destabilizing experiences many women face — particularly when children, co-parenting decisions, and legal stress are involved.
The emotional weight of these transitions can bring grief, fear, anger, confusion, and deep uncertainty about the future.
Many women find themselves asking:
How do I make clear decisions when everything feels overwhelming?
How do I protect my children while navigating this process?
How do I communicate with a partner or former partner when conflict feels constant?
Who am I now that my life is changing so drastically?
Therapy can provide emotional support during separation and divorce transitions, helping you stay grounded and clear while navigating complex decisions.
I often work with women who are experiencing:
separation and divorce
co-parenting transitions and family restructuring
high-conflict relationship dynamics
concerns about instability or substance use in a partner
rebuilding identity after the end of a long-term relationship
While therapy cannot provide legal advice, many of my clients are working with attorneys as they navigate the legal aspects of divorce. Therapy can help you process emotions, prepare for important conversations, and approach decisions from a more regulated and grounded place.
Midlife Transitions & Identity Shifts
Midlife often brings a powerful moment of reckoning.
Many women begin questioning the roles they have carried for years — partner, parent, professional, caretaker — and feel a growing desire to reconnect with their voice and direction.
This stage of life can bring:
relationship changes or divorce
shifts in identity and purpose
career transitions or burnout
parenting changes or empty nest
a deeper sense that something within you is asking for change
These transitions can feel destabilizing, but they can also become powerful turning points.
Therapy provides a space to explore these questions with honesty and compassion while reconnecting with your inner clarity, strength, and direction.
College Students & Young Adults
Early adulthood is also a time of significant transition.
Many college students and young adults are navigating identity, independence, relationships, and the pressure to figure out their future.
I work with young adults who may be experiencing:
anxiety and overwhelm
identity exploration and self-confidence challenges
relationship difficulties
navigating independence and life direction
academic stress and uncertainty about the future
Therapy provides a supportive space to slow down, gain clarity, and develop the emotional tools needed to move forward with confidence.
My Approach
As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC, NCC), my work is trauma-informed and integrates traditional psychotherapy with body-based practices that support nervous system regulation.
Major life transitions often activate the body’s stress response. When the nervous system becomes overwhelmed, it can be difficult to think clearly, regulate emotions, or feel grounded in decisions.
Our work together may include:
somatic awareness and nervous system regulation
trauma-informed breathwork and grounding practices
gentle inner child and parts work
emotional processing and integration
boundary and communication work
identity exploration and personal realignment
This integrative approach supports both stability and transformation, helping you feel more grounded in the present while gently untangling patterns rooted in the past.
Common Reasons Women Reach Out
Women often begin therapy during times when life feels uncertain or overwhelming.
Some of the most common reasons clients reach out include:
navigating separation or divorce
managing co-parenting stress or custody concerns
feeling emotionally overwhelmed by relationship changes
experiencing anxiety, burnout, or nervous system dysregulation
questioning identity or direction during midlife
wanting support making important life decisions
seeking a safe space to process difficult emotions
You do not need to have everything figured out before beginning therapy.
Many clients start simply because something in their life no longer feels sustainable or aligned.
A Safe and Confidential Space
Therapy is a confidential space focused on your emotional wellbeing.
I provide individual therapy and do not serve as a mediator, custody evaluator, or legal advisor.
My role is to support your emotional stability, clarity, and healing while you navigate this chapter of your life. When clients are working with attorneys or other professionals, therapy can help them process emotions, prepare for difficult conversations, and remain grounded throughout the process.
Therapy vs Coaching or Breathwork
Therapy focuses on emotional healing, nervous system regulation, and psychological support within a clinical framework.
Some seasons call for therapy.
Other seasons may call for coaching, breathwork, or group work.
You don’t need to know which path is right — part of my role is helping you discern the most supportive approach for where you are right now.
You Don’t Have to Navigate This Alone
Life transitions can feel like standing at the edge of the unknown.
But they can also become powerful turning points — moments where you reconnect with your voice, your truth, and the life that is waiting for you beyond this chapter.
Therapy offers a place to pause, reflect, and begin moving forward with greater clarity and strength.
Ready to Begin?
Starting therapy doesn’t require certainty — only a willingness to take the next step.
You don’t need to be in crisis.
You don’t need to have the right words.
You don’t need to know exactly what you want to work on.
You only need a place where you can arrive as you are.

My therapy dog in training :)
She loves to snuggle, make people laugh, steal socks, enjoys a balance of naps and wild playtime, and just like my kids… she loves snacks!
Parent - Child Sessions
Sometimes, bringing parents and children together in therapy helps foster understanding and connection. These sessions encourage open communication, strengthen relationships, and support both parents and teens in navigating difficult moments.
Parent-child sessions can be scheduled alongside individual therapy. For consistent family therapy, I can provide referrals.
